The reasons why students like to consume instant or canned foods.

Mostly, students like to consume instant or canned food. Especially they, who live in boarding house, prefer instant or canned foods to traditional food that must be cook first. You can imagine if there are five thousands students in one university who live in boarding house and there are just one hundred students who live in their house, so there are more than five thousands instant or canned foods which are sold in a day. Then, there are many supermarkets or mini markets which are spread in each the streets which sell instant or canned foods as if instant or canned foods are food that must be eaten in each day as a main food, so they are very famous as food and they are liked by students, because the price is cheap; it can be gotten easily; they have so many various taste; it is simple and fast; the expired date is long. That is why, students like to consume it.

The first reason, instant or canned foods are cheap. As we know, students, who live in boarding house, must be able to manage their money. They will choose foods which are cheap, but it can make them to be full. For example, the price of instant noodle is just Rp.2000, but it is delicious and can make to be full. Moreover, needs of students are not only food, but they need to buy some books or clothes, so they will decrease sum of money to buy food and choose instant or canned foods. Consequently, they like to consume it to fulfill need of food.

Another reason, since instant or canned foods can be gotten easily, students like to consume it. Nowadays, supermarket and mini market are so many, so there are many shops which sell it in around students’ boarding house. In addition, students will not choose foods which are difficult to be cooked it, because they cannot cook well. Moreover, in their boarding house, the equipment is not enough to cook, if they must cook vegetables or meats. As a result, they will buy instant or canned food in supermarket or in mini market which are near their boarding house.

Furthermore, instant or canned foods have many various taste. For example, instant noodle has many taste, such as; Rendang, Soto, Spicy, Ayam Bawang, Iga Sapi, Kari Ayam. They can choose their favorite taste and will not feel bored. Although it is just instant food, it is so delicious. Therefore, students like it very much.

Moreover, instant or canned foods are simple and fast. It means that it is easy to be cooked and you will not need many hours to cook it. As students, who have not many hours, will choose it. Then, if they are hungry, they can cook instant or canned foods which just need around five minutes. It is so fast and the students will not spend their time to cook it. Thus, instant or canned foods are the best choice.

Last reason, the expired date of instant or canned foods are long. The expired date is usually two weeks or one month. It depends on the kind of food. That is why, instant or canned foods are often used as spare foods. For example, students save many instant noodles as spare food, because it has long time to be expired. Hence, it is useful for students who want to be economical.

In conclusion, there are several causes which cause student to consume instant or canned foods. The causes are about the price, easy, the taste, simple, fast, and the expired date. That is why, students choose it as spare foods which can be consumed. As a consequence, they like it very much and consuming instant or canned foods cannot be away from students, at least mostly students.
